The Spalding County Sheriff’s Office is sponsoring an Introduction to Firearms class. The program will be held at the Griffin Gun Club on Saturday, January 26, 2019 (550 Amelia Road Griffin, Ga 30223). The class will be from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. The class is for those 18 and over. You cannot have a felony or a domestic violence conviction (family violence).
To register, please email jshorb@spaldingcounty.com, starting on Monday, January 7, 2019 at 8:00 am. Please include your name, address, and your best contact number. You will be emailed a registration packet and contacted for an appointment to turn it in. You must turn in your packet in person, along with the $20 (cash only) charge for the class. The class is limited to the first 15 registered. A waiting list will be available. Registration will close two weeks prior to class. All packets and payment must be summited one week before class.
The introduction to firearms class is designed for the person that has little or no experience with firearms. Topics such as firearm laws, when and where to carry, use of deadly force, and marksmanship fundamentals will be covered and discussed. The students will get a chance to fire a weapon under the guidance of a firearms instructor and will be given instruction on proper marksmanship fundamentals.
Registration includes the following:
Box lunch from Chic Fil A of Griffin (Sandwich, Waffle chips, and a cookie) Water is free and soft drinks are available for 50 cents each.
Ammunition (.38 special, .40 caliber, 9 mm, 380 auto and .22 Long Rifle)
Firearms (you can bring your own or use one of ours)
